Letter to the Reverend William B. Sprague discussing an address Spencer is to make to the Abolitionists. He mentions waiting until the Loco Foco convention at Baltimore is over so that he can say a few things about whomever they nominate. He discusses General Cass and his campaign for immediate annexation of Texas. He also mentions the enormities Tyler had committed by virtually making war on Mexico. Written at Lyons, N.Y.

Zachary Taylor (1784-1850), the twelfth president of the United States. In 1841, he was appointed to the command of the Sourthern Division of the United States.
